The other day I walked by this big stand of baby bok choi. Some years ago I had this lovely garlic bok choi in China, which I got an immediate craving for as I saw these babies laying there all green and fresh!
Baby bok choi, or choy as one can see it spelled as well, is one of my favorites to steam, wok or add to soups. I really like the fresh taste and crispness it brings to a meal. And paring it with Asia flavors such as ginger, sesame oil and oyster sauce is a good way to prepare it. And in my world garlic is always a hit!
So I bought a large bunch and went home and experiment. Did it turn out exactly as in China? Maybe not but it was still very very tasty! As it is grill season I think this dish works well as a side dish to grilled rib-eye but also chicken or salmon.
As I’ve had quite a lot of fish the last couple of weeks I was really in for a steak so grilled rib-eye came on my plate this week. Remember the recipe can be found on top of page in Swedish and English.
A cold beer always goes well with the flavors of Asia so for me that will be the paring for this Friday!
