Some days I crave a big burger! A juicy burger with the toppings and a nice dressing. For me the best burgers are the ones made at home. There are some restaurants, especially steak houses, that serve good burgers too but for me nothing beats a homemade one! I particular love the burgers my mum does in the summer and we grill them outside. They are always very juicy! But now it is winter and I live in an apartment in Toronto so my possibility to grill is limited (or more correctly non-existing). Therefore I have to fry my burgers on top of the stove.
This time I decided to make the burgers with ground chicken. To add some extra flavour I mixed the ground chicken with shredded parmesan, a minced yellow onion and chopped parsley. Added an egg to keep the raw burgers together and then some salt & pepper.
For toppings I used baby spinach, sliced tomatoes and Dijonnaise. As Dijon mustard is one of my favourite condiments I mix my own Dijonnaise by mixing 1 tablespoon Dijon mustard with 1 tablespoon Mayonnaise.
And pickles. Yes I love pickles too!
To a burger I prefer a good beer. And I must say there are some really nice Canadian ones. This time it will be a local Ontario beer – Creemore Springs Premium Lager.
